Use:

  • Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is well documented as a supplement for horses.
  • Spirulina supports the horses immune system and promotes a normal immune response in horses that do not tolerate midges. Great for horses that react to insects and for horses that, for example, rub their mane and tail. Also ideal for horses exposed to stressful situations and therefore have a more vulnerable immune system.
  • Spirulina also shows good results in combination with Jiaogulan for horses with respiratory issues, especially those affected by, for example, plant pollen in spring and summer. (2g Jiaogulan + 20g Spirulina fed 2 x per day)
  • Studies also show that Spirulina promotes weight loss and improves metabolic health in horses with metabolic issues.
  • Spirulina is also an excellent source of protein, with a good amino acid profile to support and maintain healthy, well-functioning muscles. Also a great protein source for senior horses and breeding horses.
