NordicMinty Omega is made from the highest quality brown linseed, from which we gently extract some of the oil to ensure the horse gets full benefit. The product is then heated to between 5055 degrees to avoid prussic acid. After this process, the oil content is reduced to 1415%, makingNordic Minty Omegaeasy for the horse to digest. The high content of mucilage and oil from the linseed, together with peppermint and beetroot, has a positive effect on the horses digestive system.

All horses, young and old, need omega-3 fatty acids daily. When the horse is out at grass in summer, it will most often get enough omega-3. But throughout the winter, or if the horse is kept in a dry lot or track system, it is important that we add them to the horses feeding.

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential. Essential means that the fatty acids cannot be produced in the horses body and therefore must be included in the feed. If the horse lacks omega-3, it may experience issues with immune function, hormone regulation, skin, hooves etc. You can read much more about Omega-3 fatty acids in our blog post:Essentielle fedtsyrer.
