Nordic Sand Exit is an effective supplement that helps sand pass through, so the horse avoids excessive build-ups of sand in the intestines.

Nordic Sand Exit is a combination of psyllium husks, extruded linseed, rosehip and herbs.

Psyllium husks help sand pass out of the intestines. The added linseed forms a protective mucilage that coats the surface of the gut, while herbs and yeast culture help maintain/restore a healthy digestive system.

With its unique composition, Nordic Sand Exit helps ensure the horses digestive system functions optimally and that sand build-ups are avoided - horses love the taste!

Benefits:

  • Exceptionally palatable
  • Easy to mix into the horses regular feed
  • Feed sticks as treats
  • High content of psyllium husks
  • Fibre-rich herbs that support digestion
  • Added Jerusalem artichoke providing inulin
  • Linseed adds mucilage

Use:

As a preventive supplement to help transport sand out of the intestines. Also for acute sand build-up.

When feeding larger doses of psyllium husks, there are some factors that are important to consider:

  • Always ensure the horse has been given forage, so it is not ravenously hungry before feeding (this minimises the risk of oesophageal obstruction).
  • Make sure to feed the high amount of psyllium husks (when the ENTIRE daily dose is fed in one meal) separately from the horses other concentrate feed, as the large amount of psyllium husks will reduce the absorption of other nutrients in the feed. They should be fed either two hours before, or two hours after feeding vitamins and minerals. If the daily dose is split into several meals (min. 2) per day, they can be fed together with concentrate feed supplemented with vitamins and minerals.
  • Offer the horse fresh, clean water after intake of the psyllium husks and, at the same time, preferably offer more forage. When the horse has to chew through larger amounts with psyllium husks, they can in some cases become a little sticky in the horses mouth due to the mucilage-forming fibres. Water and forage are a great help after intake.
